Approved transport tanks

Approved transport tanks

Tanks approved for transport are tanks that comply with the ADR agreement, i.e. the agreement for the international carriage of dangerous goods by road. ADR-approved tanks for transporting diesel and gasoline are tanks that are designed and constructed to meet and fulfil strict requirements in terms of materials, strength, safety and design.

What is the ADR?

The ADR is the international agreement for the carriage of dangerous goods by road.

The ADR consists of a number of provisions concerning the construction of packages, the relevant tests for their approval, marking and labelling according to the goods transported.

The ADR is a regulation that aims to guarantee and protect the safe carriage of dangerous goods by road, which includes fuels.

Why approved tanks?

Approved transport tanks are used to ensure safety during transport and prevent accidents that could endanger people and the environment. The approval of tanks certifies that they meet the strict construction and strength standards defined by the ADR, which specifies in detail the characteristics a tank must have in order to transport fuel.
The materials used, the wall thickness, the welds and all components of our tanks approved for the transport of diesel and gasoline comply with the stringent ADR regulation for the carriage of dangerous goods by road.

Not only ADR

Emiliana Serbatoi's approved transport tanks have obtained the main approvals for the transport of fuels: not only ADR for road transport, but also RID (rail transport), ADN (transport on inland waters) and IMDG (sea transport).

Safety and performance

To obtain these approvals, products must pass tests such as the hydropneumatic test, the overlap test, the lifting test, the vibration test and the drop test. It is only by passing these tests that the safety and reliability of approved tanks for the transport of fuels can be guaranteed to the fullest extent possible.

For every need

Our approved tanks are versatile and multi-purpose, suitable to meet any need: they can be made of polyethylene, iron or stainless steel with capacities ranging from 55 to 980 litres.

The choice of a transport tank and the material from which it is made depend on several factors: from the product to be transported to the vehicles on which the tank is to be placed, from the vehicles that the tank will supply, to the environmental conditions that the tank will face during its lifetime.

Tanks in exemption: what are they?

Within the scope of the ADR agreement there are a number of exemptions which, according to very specific criteria, regulate the total or partial NON-application of the provisions concerning the transport of dangerous goods. These are divided into exemptions related to the nature of the transport operation and exemptions related to quantities carried per transport unit.
